Knitting the day away

My current (going on 3 years) obsession is knitting. Knitty Gritty, Vickie Howell's show on DIYnetwork.com, has helped me in many ways. She has guest knitters and great patterns. Her choice in guests vary in age and gender, which I like, because it shows that anyone can knit. ANYONE!!! She did an interview recently for Creative Knitting, and has many books on the market with a wide range of funky designs. She also has developed her own line of yarn, but I have not tried to use it, yet.

My grandma taught me knitting, but it wasn't until I was changing jobs that I felt the need to do more. Knitting was the answer, so I relearned from coworkers, books and videos. It's the only craft/hobby I've really stuck with for any length of time. I tried cross-stitching, scrapbooking, and ceramics, but none were really working for me.

Once I decided to revisit knitting my grandma gave me all of her needles and yarn, which I've used and appreciate. It's one of the few skills I think she was happy to pass down to someone. I'm no professional, that's for sure, but I love it.
