Working from home

Now that I'm half-time, I think I may have taken on too much. When Ben is home I have little time for thoughts of college, because he's sooooo demanding. Kristen had us over for dinner Saturday and I felt so bad that Ben was so obnoxious. Her and Kenny didn't seem to mind... but man I was saying, "No Ben," like twenty times a minute. I was exhausted. The lasagne was good.
Sunday was a recovery day for all of us, I think.
Today (Monday) it was just me and Ben at home, like usual. Our Baby and Me swim class was postponed until more people show interest. Apparently we need one more mom/baby team. So, we gradually rolled out of bed by ten a.m., took a shower, and then ran around the backyard. I made him some breakfast/lunch and coffee for me. Then, I started cleaning and organizing. I spent 90% of the day doing that. I don't think I made any progress, but all of Ben's extra clothes and toys are in sacks in the hallway for freecycle or goodwill. On top of the piano are things I'm taking to work or gifting to others. He has another new bin marked 'learning toys.' Finally, I also managed to make a killer (but soggy) meatloaf and sweet potato fries.
OH, and I did ALL the laundry! I was feeling pretty good about that. It included all the folding and putting away, too. Let's hope it stays that way. Ota can wear the same thing all week... sure... and I'll wear my pajamas. Ben just needs diapers.

Ben had a different kind of day. Off schedule and crazy, he didn't let me out of his sight, except when he wanted to play outside and I wanted to stay inside. But, when I went to get the laundry he would wail and pound on the door. When I went to the bathroom he started yelling, "mom... mom...mom." Even though I told him the standard, "mommy has to go pee," before I left the room. *sigh* Maybe it's just a stage and next week we'll have a new oddity.

Pictures today include Ben's completing his circuit of climbing over the back of the sofa using strategically placed toys (not pictured) and ending with a 'ta-da' on the top of the coffee table. He did this about four or five times before daddy felt it was bedtime.

While setting up the camera for taking pictures on the tripod, Ben also felt the need to ham it up so I'd take pictures of him being silly. Here's one of him and all his glorious (self-inflicted) scrapes and bruises; dirty fingers in the mouth no less. I don't just have a boy... I TOTALLY have a boy. He brings me little bugs and worms when he finds them. Sometimes I think it's because he likes hearing me say, "icky."
Lastly, I wanted to include a shot of him in the blanket I completed. After five or six restarts at work, this six hour throw on speed stix turned out smaller than I thought it would. I ended up finishing it at home, because 15 minute breaks didn't really work for this piece. Besides, it isn't big enough for us to 'throw' on the end of our bed. But, it is big enough for snuggling with Ben. Ben really likes how the knit is so wide he can stick his arm through parts. Ota likes the colors, but doesn't like how it doesn't cover from his feet to his chin. I guess next time I better just go by his measurements and not the pattern. It was a simple Lion Brand pattern, if you were wondering. :)
