Half way through with school

Yesterday felt like midterms. I had a project due about Intellectual Freedom, but I thought it was the library tour project. On top of that I had to catch up on reading, which I did at the last minute, just in time to write a journal entry for class. The good news is, once again because I can't make sense of the course calendar, my project due next Sunday is complete as well as everything but the final big project.

My final project is to write a grant. Not a real grant, but written well enough that I can submit it if I want to. I've decided to write one requesting funding for increasing the Spanish collection size for the local library. If I get motivated enough, then I'll include requesting enough funding for the library to hire someone who speaks spanish fluently. This perosn would not only assist in educating staff in Spanish language, but also provide bilingual studies and storytimes. If I'm successful, then maybe I can push this further and help libraries that are already struggling to find funding to keep staff in danger of being layed off due to economic reasons. Ah... pipe dreams and big goals are my thing, but I can rarely meet the high mark I try to set for myself.

On top of this I need to reintroduce myself to my first instructor. I left that class unfinished and need to complete it before December. That's my goal and I'm sticking to that.

Ota has been great at taking care of Ben this weekend. I need to find a way to thank him. He usually wants only one thing. Why is that? It's not normal.
