Ben's Birthday, Snow and Halloween Photos

For all of you eagerly awaiting more pictures of Ben (and family) we have downloaded the contents of our camera tonight.  Below, we have various shots of Ben's 5th birthday, snow, and Halloween....

During pizza everyone got into blowing these noiseless things (do they have a name?)

Ben's lego cake w/ real legos

Relighting the candle after Ben's buddy Cameron blew it out before we sang the song. Notice my slightly disgruntled expression which I thought I had hidden well.  Oh well.

Singing!

2008 update

Here is the scarf I made for a coworker last year around christmas. It displays this cool zigzag pattern that I got off of Knitty.com. The yarn was costly, but I thought it was fine, because this guy needed a little luxury in his life. I come to find out recently that he loathes me. Suck it up, baby, life is short. Well, whatever, it's the thought that counts, right?

Ben's latest adventures:

Here's Ben and Ota in Tahoe. I was sick the whole friggin' weekend, so I didn't manage to get out with them in the snow. I DID get to see Bryan Adams in concert though. An apology gift from my husband for something I've decided to forget for now
Aren't they cute?
Lastly, here is Ota's new adaptation to the swiffer. He took a section out and now it's Ben's swiffer. Ben is the cheapest house cleaner we've ever had. :)

Today's new thang...

Here's Ben tooling around the kitchen. We got a 2nd hand 'rocker' from our friend Tracie which we cleaned up and padded. There was some serious cleaning involved, because of some built-up food around the cloth insert, as well as some bird poopy from being temporarily outside. Since we have hardwood floors we had to add some adhesive felt discs. So, because of the discs it's really not a rocker anymore as much as it is a glider.

Today we also had his 1/2 birthday shots. He took them like a trooper. He also has another tooth exposed, so that's two on the bottom. Thank goodness he doesn't use them on me anymore.

He's eating solid food regularly. Which also means he does other larger stinkier things regularly, too. Oh well, such is the joys of parenting.

cellphone email message2

This is great. Now I can take photos and movies with my cell and send them to my blog. That will be great, now that I have this great new phone. Well, it takes great pictures anyways.

Here is Ben's view of me when I peek at him from the front seat when we travel. He's a great traveler and I never know if he's awake or asleep unless I look.

Cell phone photos

O.K. here are the recent shots of Junior from the cell phone. One is him in his carseat on his first day at day care.

The other is a shot we took while in Colorado. The trip to Colorado was O.K. Ben was sick with 101-103 degree fever for most of it. I think he was breaking a tooth. He has one now. Ota was working anyway and there was snow everywhere, so Pam and I just hung out at the house playing 'Desperate Housewives' on the computer and playing with Ben. Thanks to our United Visa miles our plane tickets were only $10 total, so our only real expense was the rental car.

Here's the last surgery for Ota. Ota is all puffy and groggy. Ben was fussy. It was an exhausting few days. Glad Ota is home and all is well now. He's been helping out with Ben more now, which makes going back to work a little easier.

2 months & Christmas hits us

So, we're going to have a Christmas tree. It took a lot of forced visualization for Ota, but he agreed to a small one in the living room.

We're going to Salinas for the Eve, like we used to, but this time with Ben. I'm worried about Ben traveling too much during flu season though. I got the shot, but he's too little for that. Ota's been really sick and I hope it doesn't pass to me and Ben.

Ben had his shots on Wednesday. Grandma Eva went with us and met our doctor. They had a great time talking about the places in Europe they know. Ben was really good with getting the shots. He only cried a little bit. Then he slept a lot for the next two days. Thankfully, we got him to wake up long enough for the Christmas pictures on Thursday with Grandma Susie.
