Julie & Julia

Here's my review.... loved it!   Adams is, as always, cute as a button, while still pulling off a determined and slightly depressed city girl.  Streep is wonderful as Julia, as she is in almost every portrayal she's accomplished. But, my dearest surprise is Tucci as her loving husband.  He adds artfully unspoken moments of tenderness to Julia's life that we don't often hear enough about. The little smile he passes when her sister comes to Paris was charming.

Honestly, I didn't know that much about Julia beyond seeing her on t.v. once in a while as an octogenarian. Our house never had that cookbook when I was growing up... in fact I definitely don't have that book now.  But, this movie led me to believe I should. Now, I have a whole new respect for her. She was uncharacteristically tall and not pretty, and she never stopped herself from being truly happy doing what she loved.
