Just so annoying...

Try to do homework in a house with two cats, a dog, a three year old and a husband. All five members of the family are constantly vying for my attention. The kitten climbs on my keyboard. The dog sits besides me whining. Ben keeps saying, "look at me!" Plus I have to make dinner during all this so my husband doesn't get cranky. Sure, he could've made it, but I don't trust him in the kitchen unattended.

To top it off, the software that I need for class wouldn't download properly. I've spent hours waiting and then nothing. Finally, I realized that I had been hitting "run" instead of "save" for the exe, so it was timing out from the Philly server. Ugh.... human error is mine again.

Well, at least I'm doing well at work. I'm making some rookie mistakes, like missing errant capitalizations in the 245 and 246. Bad punctuation, indicator use, and such, because I'm not up to date on the AACR2 and RDA standards. But overall I'm glad that my new supervisor claims I'm doing excellently. It makes me feel confident in my abilities. Also, It's good to know I still have mad cataloging skills. :D

Lastly, I'm personally proud of my still viable mental storage facilities. I not only know everyone's name, but I have memorized all the important logins and passwords I need to use everyday. It's surprising how people on the outside of the library don't realize how many programs we have to log into just to start work. First I boot up Windows, then log into the ILS, boot up the RFID pad, open a browser to online cataloging tools, configure my macros, and then I can start dealing with materials. Thankfully, I don't have to waste time checking my email everyday at work. Only management have to do that.

Well.... I still have 50% to download....... time to check facebook I guess.
